Welcome to Typestream (typestream.dev). Typestream is a brand owned and operated by
Small Experiments LLP (UEN T26LL0245C), located at 116C Rivervale Drive, Singapore.
By accessing or using our website, API, drop-in components, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.
1. Description of Service
Typestream provides a developer-focused, pay-as-you-go speech-to-text API service. We provide tools, code snippets, and API keys to integrate voice dictation into your applications.
2. Account Registration and API Security
- Account Creation: You must register for an account to obtain an API key. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- API Key Security: You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys and account credentials. You are responsible for all activities and charges incurred under your API keys. If you suspect your API key has been compromised, you must immediately revoke it in your dashboard and notify us. We never store the raw key on our servers for security purposes.
3. Billing and Pay-As-You-Go
Typestream operates strictly on a pay-as-you-go billing model.
- Prepaid Credits: Usage of the API requires pre-purchasing credits or maintaining a positive billing balance.
- Usage Charges: Charges are deducted based on the volume of audio processed through our API according to the pricing listed on our website.
- No Subscriptions: There are no recurring monthly or annual subscription fees to maintain an active account.
4. Refund Policy
Because Typestream operates on a pay-as-you-go consumption model, all purchases and API credit top-ups are final and non-refundable.
We do not offer automatic, prorated, or guaranteed refunds for unused credits or past API usage. However, customer satisfaction is important to us. If you are unhappy with the service, encounter persistent technical issues, or believe there has been a billing error, please contact our support team.
Any refunds, partial refunds, or account credits will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and granted strictly at the sole discretion of Small Experiments LLP.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Process audio that violates the rights of any third party, including copyright, privacy, or consent laws.
- Reverse-engineer, disrupt, or maliciously attempt to overwhelm our API infrastructure (e.g., DDoS attacks).
- Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious purposes.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your API access immediately if we detect abuse or a violation of this Acceptable Use policy.
6. Data Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Typestream operates on a strict zero data retention model. We process audio in-memory and do not store your audio files or transcripts, nor do we use your data to train AI models.
7. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Typestream API, documentation, code snippets, branding, and underlying software remain the exclusive property of Small Experiments LLP. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the API strictly in accordance with these Terms.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. Small Experiments LLP makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, or 100% uptime of the speech-to-text API. We disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Small Experiments LLP shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use or inability to use the Service. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid to us for API usage in the three (3) months preceding the claim.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
11. Changes to the Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document or by sending an email notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
